Prairie Co-op Sponsors Fort Qu'Appelle Rexentre
ActionsArenas have always been the heart of communities across Saskatchewan, and the Rexentre in Fort Qu’Appelle is no exception. Besides being the location for local hockey teams to play, the Rexentre has a well-utilized walking program, public skating, and serves as the location for trade shows in Fort Qu’Appelle.
“On behalf of the Town of Fort Qu’Appelle, I am pleased to have formed this partnership with Prairie Co-op,” said Gus Lagace, Mayor of Fort Qu’Appelle. “I would like to thank Prairie Co-op for their support to the community and the surrounding area they serve. This partnership aides us to cover some of the recent upgrades to the Rexentre and will allow the Rexentre to continue to serve the community well into the future.”
A strong social conscience has always been part of how Prairie Co-op operates, built on a foundation of community involvement and community investment. Prairie Co-op has committed $50,000 toward the newly renamed Prairie Co-op Rexentre.
“Community-mindedness is one of the cornerstones of Prairie Co-op,” said Terry Vanmackelberg, General Manager. “Building strong communities have always been a focus of Co-ops, and what better way to do this than to support the heart of the community? One of the focused areas of donations for Prairie Co-op this year is Sports and Recreation, so when the opportunity arose to become a partner with the Rexentre and secure the naming rights, it was an easy decision for the Prairie Co-op Board of Directors.”
We are excited to partner with the Town of Fort Qu’Appelle to sponsor the Prairie Co-op Rexentre to provide a valuable community attraction for the years to come.
We invite you to join us for the Fort Knox hockey team home opening game against the Pilot Butte Storm at 7pm on September 28 at the Prairie Co-op Rexentre. Prairie Co-op is sponsoring the game and recognizing the Indigenous communities in the File Hills Qu’Appelle Tribal Council.
