Prairie Co-op is proud to announce its partnership with the Melville Comprehensive School (MCS) SADD (Students Against Drinking and Driving) Chapter on an impactful initiative aimed at promoting awareness about the dangers of impaired and distracted driving. The collaboration has brought to life a powerful message, "Life...Be in it for the LONG HAUL," displayed prominently on the back of a Prairie Co-op fuel truck and the accompanying trailers.

The MCS SADD group was awarded a $12,000 grant from SGI (Saskatchewan Government Insurance) to fund the vehicle wraps. This innovative project transforms Prairie Co-op’s fleet into mobile billboards, carrying a vital safety message across communities. "We are incredibly proud to partner with the MCS SADD group on this crucial project," said Terry Vanmackelberg, Prairie Co-op General Manager. "At Prairie Co-op, safety is a top priority, and we believe in supporting initiatives that make our roads and communities safer. This partnership allows us to amplify a life-saving message and contribute to a significant cause driven by the passion and dedication of these young leaders." The MCS SADD Chapter is comprised of 40 students in Grades 7 through 12 and is led by teachers Sharon Roach and Sidney Rydzik.

The "Life...Be in it for the LONG HAUL" slogan serves as a powerful reminder to drivers to make responsible choices behind the wheel, emphasizing the long-term consequences of impaired and distracted driving.

Sharon Roach said, "Our SADD group is thrilled to see this project come to fruition. The SGI grant allowed us to bring our vision to life, and partnering with Prairie Co-op provides an incredible platform to reach a wide audience with our message. We hope that every time someone sees these trucks, they are reminded to prioritize safety and make responsible decisions for themselves and others on the road."

The wrapped fuel trucks are now in service, travelling throughout the Prairie Co-op region and serving as a constant visual reminder of the importance of safe driving practices.
