Prairie Co-op Donations and Sponsorships
October 17, 2024

Co-ops are built by and for the communities they serve. Prairie Co-op is pleased to partner with community groups and organizations in our trading area to help those in need and make our communities better.

Our community relations program strengthens the communities where we do business by focusing our giving into specific community sponsorships that most closely reflect our corporate values and strategies.

Please at least two (2) weeks for processing.  Larger requests (above $5,000) require Board approval and may take four (4) weeks or more to process. We work hard to assist in as many community organizations as possible, however due to the high volume of requests received, not all proposals will be approved. Such a response does not reflect upon the value of your organization and the valuable service you provide.

Please review the Sponsorship Guidelines below.

If you would like to apply for a donation, please click for the Online Application Form.

Our guidelines:

With an endless list of worthwhile recipients, we have set some parameters to help us evaluate and prioritize applications. Here are our guidelines, which we take into consideration when reviewing requests:

  • Proximity: We support causes that are in the Prairie Co-op trading area. We do not consider applications for groups or projects outside of our trading area that can be helped by their local Co-op.
  • Impact: We want to help the maximum number of people possible. To ensure that we distribute our donations equitably, in the case of tournaments, meets, and bonspiels, our donation policy will be to provide a raffle/door prize, either in Prairie Co-op merchandise or Co-op gift cards. If further sponsorship is required, the group may apply to participate in the Gift Card Fundraising Program. Click here to go to the Gift Card Fundraising Program page.
  • Priority: Special consideration will be given to organizations and initiatives that support and focus on the areas of youth development, sports and recreation, and education.
  • Frequency: Organizations, charities, or groups may be limited to receiving support for two initiatives per year. Prairie Co-op MAY donate over this threshold at their discretion.
  • Alignment: We support organizations and initiatives that align with our business and organizational values.

We do not support:

  • Individuals
  • For-profit organizations
  • Organizations that represent a conflict of interest for Prairie Co-op
  • Organizations, or their representatives, involved in promoting controversial issues that are not in alignment with our values or guiding statements
  • Administrative costs
  • Political organizations
  • Religious organizations, except secular activities open to those of all faiths, such as operating a shelter or group program
  • Individual teams or small sports organizations that do not benefit a significant portion of our community.
  • Third-party fundraising.
  • Telephone solicitations will be declined
