Food stores donate Christmas dinner hampers to Food Banks
January 15, 2021

Part of our commitment to sustainability is shown through our partnership with our local food banks.  In order to address food security issues in our communuties, we have worked closely with the Food Banks in both Melville and Fort Qu’Appelle.

In 2019, the Fort Qu’Appelle Community Outreach Centre and the Melville Food Bank were recipients of the money raised during Fuel Good Day. The Outreach Centre used the money for increased programming, and the Melville Food Bank was needing a larger building to house their facilities.

In May of this year, both our Melville Food Store and our Fort Qu’Appelle Marketplace each donated a pallet of food worth over $1,000 to each Food Bank.

This Christmas, these two food stores both donated 25 complete Christmas dinner hampers to the Food Banks.
