Fort Knox Game Sponsorship Night

Indigenous Recognition Night -- Stronger Together: As Long as the Sun Shines, the Grass Grows, and the River Flows

Call for Submissions – Design a Jersey for Fort Knox Hockey Team

Applicants: Open to residents within the Prairie Co-op trading area, particularly the Fort Qu’Appelle area. There are three age categories: Under 12, 12-18, and 19+. The winner will receive a jersey, a $100 honorarium, and be invited as a special guest at the game.

Scope: To design a “Third Jersey” for the Prairie Co-op-sponsored hockey game. This jersey would incorporate elements traditional to the Indigenous Nations of Treaty 4 territory and recognize the Treaty promise: Treaty promises were made to last as long as “the sun shines, the grass grows, and river flows”. The selected artist will provide a written explanation of their design.

Purpose: To celebrate Indigenous culture and the Treaty promises by designing a jersey for the game. The jerseys would be auctioned off to raise money for retired Chief Marie Anne Daywalker-Pelletier’s Daywalker Homefire Family Centre.

Critical Dates:

• Application deadline: June 30, 2024
• Evaluation deadline: July 12, 2024

Please note that Prairie Co-op may amend the above dates.
