Positive  COVID-19 Case — November 29, 2020

To our Members, Owners and Customers of Prairie Co-operative LTD,

An employee at our Cupar location informed us that they received a positive test result for COVID-19 late Saturday evening. Our team member last worked on November 26 from 8 am - 2 pm, and has been self-isolating since, and will continue to do so until December 11 as instructed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Please note, the Team Member is an Ag product specialist and does not meet with the general public at large.

Prairie Co-op will follow the direction of the Saskatchewan Health Authority as is provided. The health and safety of our team members and our customers is paramount as we provide essential goods to our communities, while we face this challenge together.

Our priority remains to serve our friends and neighbours while keeping our team members and customers safe and healthy. Prairie Co-op will continue with our already high standards for frequent cleaning, sanitization and practicing physical distancing measures (including utilizing the plexi-glass barriers at our counters), as well as wearing masks to protect those around us. Team members are asked to stay home if feeling unwell. We have and will continue to encourage all team members to seek testing and undergo self-isolation if they feel any potential COVID-19 symptoms.

We understand the impacts of COVID-19, which is why we want to be transparent and disclose broad details about any confirmed cases like this one while ensuring the confidentiality of our team members. We will continue to share how we are responding to the pandemic through the COVID-19 Response page at www.prairieco-op.crs, and will keep monitoring, evaluating and enhancing this response as our environments continue to change.

We will rely on the Saskatchewan Health Authority for their alerts of potential contacts in our communities at www.saskhealthauthority.ca/news/releases.

We thank our Prairie Co-op customers and community members for joining us to take the necessary precautions to keep our communities safe. We care greatly for the communities we work and live in and as a local, member-owned business, we take the responsibility to protect our communities seriously.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

At Prairie Co-op we realize that the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has everyone feeling uneasy, especially as we face more changes to our daily routines and future plans.

We know that your priority is to keep your families safe and ensuring that you have the essentials. Prairie Co-op is taking precautions to keep both our team members and our communities safe and healthy. Our stores are cleaned and sanitized daily as a normal course of business, but we have increased the frequency of the cleaning and sanitizing. We are also ensuring our team members have all the personal protective equipment that they require to feel safe.

We are still allowing people to bring in their own bags, but we are asking people to pack their own groceries in their reusable bags. For those people who are using plastic bags from the store, we are waiving the 5-cent charge.

This is the perfect time to thank our team members for their efforts in these extraordinary times. They are working tirelessly to do whatever it takes to serve our members.

Please continue to be kind and think about each other during these difficult times. We will get through this together as a community.

Be advised that no admittance to any Prairie Co-op locations will be allowed to people under the following circumstances:

  • People who have traveled outside Canada, including to the U.S., within the last 14 days
  • You have come in contact with someone who has COVID-19
  • You have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing
